Meet our new Village Caretaker, John!

In June, our new Village Caretaker, John started his role and hit the ground running! John is funded by Kippax Parish Council and works 10 hours a week, helping to maintain and improve the village alongside the work that Leeds City Council do.

He has already made a great job of clearing the pathways at Shuttock’s Fold, tidying up the edging alongside the allotments on Station Road, as well as helping Kippax in Bloom ahead of judging day!

John is managed by the Village Services Group (part of Kippax Parish Council) who are the eyes and ears of the village, keeping a check of things that need maintaining, replacing or sprucing up – either liaising with Leeds City Council on issues that fall under their remit, or assigning John to assist.

We would always encourage you to report any issues directly to Leeds City Council, but if you need any support, or have any suggestions for jobs in the village that our Caretaker could work on, please contact the Chair of the Village Services Group, Julie Biscomb: Julie.biscomb@kippax-pc.gov.uk.

And if you see John around, please give him a wave and say ‘Hello’!
